Our School Community Council met for the final time this month. We would like to thank all those who served so diligently on this council. If you are a parent in our school and would like to serve on this committee for the upcoming year, we would love to have you contact the office. If a vote is necessary for next years’ new Community Council members, it will be held May 24th, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, in the school office. We welcome any of our parents to submit their name for Community Council prior to that date.
We would like to express our appreciation to all those who make our school such a wonderful place to be.
March Message
It was exciting for our students to have Grandparent’s Lunch this week. Grandparents were invited to eat with their grand children. We had a fabulous turnout in the number of grandparents who attended. We had a wonderful time visiting with the grandparents of our students. We would like to express our appreciation to those who attended.
We would like to announce Kindergarten registration, March 15th, from 11:00-3:00 AM in the gym for next year’s Kindergarten students. We will also have our Community Council meeting this Thursday, March 11th, at 3:30 PM in our school library. We will be concentrating on our Trust Lands budget for next year. The public is welcome to attend this meeting.
Korean Teacher Interns at East
We had the wonderful opportunity of having 10 Korean education students from Seoul National University of Education with us over the past two weeks. They were part of a program with SUU which allowed them a chance to intern in our school. The Korean pre-service had the chance to work with every grade and a variety of different teachers. It was a wonderful experience for our teachers and students to learn about Korean culture and about their educational system. We are grateful for the opportunity of having them in our school.
We were privileged to have an excellent opera performance sponsored by the Orchestra of Southern Utah. It was wonderful to have such outstanding talent come to our school. We would like to express our thanks to the performers and OSU for providing such a good experience for your students.
East Elementary Choir Concert
We were excited this week to have our first East Elementary Choir concert under the direction of our Choir Director Whitney Hopkins with Mike Wallace as Accompanist. The Choir performed beautifully. We would like to express gratitude to Mrs. Hopkins for all of her time and effort in preparing such a quality concert, as well as, the many morning Choir practices. We would also like to thank and the many parents, family members, and visitors who attended. Just a reminder to parents that Christmas break will begin Dec. 21st and school will resume Jan. 4th.
